Charge at home — safely, and to code.
A Level-2 charger is one of the biggest loads in your home. Done wrong, it's tripped breakers or a fire risk. Astral sizes the circuit right, confirms your panel can handle it with a real NEC load calculation, and installs it clean and permitted — for Tesla and every make.

Before you plug in, get it right
An EV charger isn't a plug-and-play appliance — it's a continuous, high-amp load that has to be sized and installed to code.
It's a continuous load
A Level-2 charger pulls ~40–48 amps for hours. Code sizes continuous loads at 125% — so a 48A charger needs a 60A circuit.
Your panel may be maxed
Stack 60A on a 100A panel already running the AC, oven and dryer and you can exceed what it's rated for — that's an overheating and fire risk.
Wire & breaker must match
Wrong gauge wire or breaker is a hidden hazard. We size conductors, breaker and connector for your exact charger and run.
Permit & inspection
A permitted install protects your home, your insurance and your resale value — and confirms the job was done right.
Future-proofing
Two EVs coming? We can pre-wire and size for tomorrow so you don't pay twice.
Rebates
Utility and state EV-charging rebates can offset the cost — we'll tell you what you qualify for.
Why your panel decides if the EV fits
We don't guess — we run an NEC 220 load calculation. Here's what it usually shows for a home adding a charger:
How full your panel gets
A typical home already pulls about 65A. Add an EV charger's 60A and you hit 125A — 25A over what a 100A panel can safely carry (the red zone). A 200A service fits it all with room to spare.

Can my current panel handle an EV charger?▾
Maybe — that's exactly what the NEC load calculation tells us. A Level-2 charger needs a dedicated circuit (often 60A for a 48A charger). If your panel has headroom, great; if it's a maxed-out 100A service, we'll show you the numbers and whether an upgrade is needed.
Do you install Tesla and other brands?▾
Yes — Tesla Wall Connector, Ford, Rivian, ChargePoint, Grizzl-E, and universal NEMA 14-50 outlets. We match the install to your vehicle and your home.
How much does EV charger installation cost?▾
A standard Level-2 install on a panel with capacity is $1,650 (you provide the charger), or $2,200 turnkey with the charger and all materials included. The permit is separate, at cost. Longer runs (100 ft+), EMT conduit, or a needed panel upgrade add to it — you get a clear, upfront quote after a free assessment, plus any rebates you qualify for.
Do I need a permit?▾
Yes, and we handle it. A permitted, inspected install protects your home, your insurance coverage and your resale value.
How long does it take?▾
Most installs are done in a few hours to a day. If a panel upgrade is needed first, we coordinate both so you're charging as soon as possible.
